Union Minister for Labour Mallikarjun Kharge, who was a chief ministerial aspirant, has reiterated that he has extended his full support to Siddaramaiah, the unanimously elected chief minister.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, Kharge has appealed people of the State to maintain peace and harmony and not agitate against the elected leader of the Congress Legislative Party.
“Some people including those from Opposition parties are taking advantage of the situation and damaging public properties thus bringing bad name to me, my leaders and the party. Hence, I appeal all to maintain peace and harmony in the State and support the government to effectively implement the election manifesto of the Congress,” he has said.
There have been protests across the State against Congress for ‘denying’ chief minister’s post to Mallikarjun Kharge, a dalit. Several dalit organisations observed a bandh also.
