Rafiki is presenting ‘The Fabulous Adventures of Aditi and Friends’ on May 18 and 19, 5 pm at Gambolla Kid’s Club, off St Mark’s Road. 

The play will shift between English and Kannada and is designed for children from five to 12 years.

Some Some Kala Samsthe is staging, Muddanna Promotion Prasanga, a humourous play on May 19, 7 pm at K H Kalasoudha, Hanumantha Nagar. It is written by Rajendra Karanth and directed by B S Ramamurthy.
Flute fiesta

The Indian Institute Of World Culture is presenting the ‘Smt M Indiramma and Sri M L Venkataramaiah Endowment Concert’ on May 19, 6 pm at No 6 BP Wadia Road, Basavanagudi. There will be a grand flute recital by Ambale Heramba Sathyaprasad and Ambale Hemantha Sathyaprasad who will be accompanied by Apoorva Krishnan on the violin and Akshay Anand on the mridangam.
In memory

The Indian Institute Of World Culture is presenting ‘Prof B S Madhava Rao and Subhadra Bai Madhava Rao Memorial Endowment Programme’ on May 18, 6 pm at No 6 B P Wadia Road, Basavanagudi. The evening will also feature a Carnatic classical vocal duet by N R Harini and N R Sarada (Bangalore Sisters) and party. 
‘Between the...’ 

An exhibition on Indian printmaking, titled ‘Between the Lines: Identity, Place and Power’ is being held at the NGMA auditorium till May 28. The pieces of art have been selected from the ‘Waswo Collection’ of Indian printmaking. This is curated by Lina Vincent Sunish. There will also be several parallel outreach programmes such as talks, curators’ walk, film screening, gallery walk and workshops on print techniques. 
Rocking on

Windmills Craftworks is presenting a performance by ‘Electric Konarak Band’ on May 18, 8.30 pm onwards at Windmills Craftworks, 331 Road, 5B EPIP Zone, Whitefield. The band was started by Konarak Reddy. 
It also features Ranjit Barot, one of the leading drummers in India. 

The band comprises Konark Reddy on the guitar, Ranjit Barot on drums, Muthu Kumar on the tabla, Miksho M’ba on bass guitar. Hindustani flutist Ravichandra Kullur will perform on May 18.

Neat blend 

Bflat is presenting, ‘Classic Wild’, an evening of soft-rock and blues music, on May 19, 8 pm onwards at Bflat, Indiranagar. 

The concert will feature Sanjay Chandrakanth on the lead guitar, Vineesh Venugopal on the lead vocals and guitar, Raj Sampath on the drums, Gerard Roy on the bass, Danny Jakes on the keyboard and Arati Rao as guest vocalist. 

The group will cover music from the early 70s to the early 90s.

Grand recital 

Nadasurabhi Cultural Association is presenting its monthly programme on May 19, 4.15 pm at The Indian Heritage Academy Hall, near police station, 6th Block, Koramangala. The concert will feature a grand vocal recital by Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam. She will be accompanied by Sandhya Srinath on the violin, Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma on the mridangam and Phanindra Bhaskar on the ghatam.

Underdog Entertainment will present ‘Cops, Tints and Other Things — The Good, Bad and Ugly of Bangalore’, a play, on May 19, 7.30 pm at Alliance Francaise. The play will showcase eight stories connected to the City in a very quirky and humorous way. For details, call 9449596883.

Craft corner

Srinidhi Arts and Crafts Foundation is organising a national crafts exhibition at Prem Chandra Sagar Kalyana Mantap, near Ashoka Pillar till May 19, from 10 am to 8 pm. 

The exhibition has more than 60 artisans from across the country showcasing their products, including cane and bamboo products, handcrafted saris, silk designer saris, dress materials, Madhubani paintings, wooden carvings, Channapatna toys and bronze idols to mention a few.

Bangalore Center for Kathakali and Arts is presenting, Kathakali Story: Baali Vadham on May 18, 6 pm. The venue is Kairalee Nilayam Auditorium, Kairalee Nilayam School, Vimanapura, Near HAL Market. Artiste Purnima Menon, a kathakali dancer will be performing Sri Rama in Balivadham on the occasion. The costume is by Manjuthara, Pangode and music is by Sadanam Shivadas and Sreerag Varma.
‘Sangeet Sambhram’ 

Sapthak is presenting Sangeet Sambhram, a music concert on May 19, 5.30 pm at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. The performing artistes include Budhaditya Mukherjee on the sitar and vocalist Pandita Shubhada Paradkar. They will be accompanied by Ravindra Yavagal and Udayaraj Karpur on the tabla and Vyasamurthy Katti on the harmonium. 

Majolly Music Trust is presenting ‘Spain’, an evening of choral music by Spanish composers ranging from the middle ages to contemporary, directed by Neecia Majolly on May 18, 7 pm at Alliance Francaise. The programme is presented by ‘Madrigals, Etc.’ and the ‘MMT Choir’. Passes are available at Cafe Liberté, Majolly Music Trust and Theme Piano World, Koramangala.

CounterCulture is presenting, Rajeev Raja Combine, a global fusion band on May 18, 9 pm. Led by Rajeev Raja, one of India’s 
most exciting jazz and fusion flautists, the band is known for its powerful rhythms, fluid melodic lines, spontaneous syncopation, and skillful improvisation.

A cultural wing of the Mysore Education Society is presenting a music concert by Sriranjani Santhanagopalan on May 18, 6.30 pm at the new conference hall, MES College, Vidyasagara Prof MPL Sastry Road, 15th cross, Malleswaram. Sriranjani will be accompanied by Smitha H M on the violin, B C Manjunath on the mridangam and S Srishaila on the ghatam.
