<p>Mumbai police whisked off Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of Indian cricket board chief N. Srinivasan, to the police headquarters shortly he landed here Friday evening.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Police are likely to interrogate Meiyappan in connection with the IPL spot fixing scam after his name was revealed by Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh Randhawa, currently in police custody.<br /><br />A team of Crime Branch sleuths had reached Chhattrapati Shivaji International Airport's domestic terminal shortly before Meiyappan was expected to arrive by a chartered aircraft around 7.30 p.m. from Madurai.<br /><br />As he stepped out of the arrival terminal, he was escorted by the sleuths to a waiting police vehicle and driven off to the Crime Branch office in Mumbai Police Headquarters near Crawford in south Mumbai.<br /><br />Police sources say Meiyappan would be questioned separately on various issues, including the recent spot fixing scam, betting and match fixing.<br /><br />Subsequently, he would be confronted with Vindu and the duo would be jointly interrogated to verify their statements.<br /><br />So far, he has not been detained and a decision on his arrest would be taken only after his interrogation, police officials said.<br /><br />Meiyappan rushed here following summons by the Mumbai police stuck on his residence door and delivered to his office in Chennai Thursday. He was given time till 5 p.m. Friday to respond to the police summons.<br /><br />Earlier Friday, he reportedly sought time till Monday to report to Mumbai police but his plea was rejected, compelling him to fly in here.</p>
