The police custody of Ashwin Agarwal aka Tinku Delhi along with two other book-makers was extended till Monday (June 10) by a local court here.

The court, while extending the custody of the trio, stated “...sufficient ground exists for police custody”. Two other book-makers whose remand application had also come up were sent to judicial custody till June 20.

The public pleader, while seeking remand extension of the arrested, stressed that as “Delhi Police have already invoked Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act in the case, it is important that investigators here carry out the probe more deeply with regard to the role of the arrested in the IPL scandal.

“Moreover, it is also very important at this juncture to investigate hawala operations taking place in these dubious financial transactions... and more important is to pinpoint hawala operators involved in the scam,” the public pleader pointed out in the court.
