The Congress high command has reportedly advised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appoint heads of boards and corporations only after the budget session in July.
As the party wants to maintain caste and regional balance in appointing chairpersons of boards and corporations, a sub-committee comprising senior leaders of the state unit will be constituted to finalise the names. Based on the recommendations of the committee, the high command will take the final decision, a senior Congress leader told Deccan Herald.
While ruling out expansion of the cabinet to fill slots, he said the party has instructed Siddaramaiah to cut down unnecessary expenditure by scrapping “unwanted” posts created by the BJP government.
