Sode mutt plans career guidance, CET pre-counselling today

Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET) in Udupi and Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, will be organising a "CET-KEA Pre-Counselling and Career Guidance Programme” on June 9 at Rajangana.

Speaking to media persons, SMVITM Principal Professor Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal said the programme is organised for the benefit of all student aspirants in the district and coastal region, having appeared for Common Entrance Test (CET)-2013 conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Former CET Counselor of Mangalore Centre and Excellent P U College (Moodabidri) Principal Shruthakeerthiraja will be the main resource person, who is going to provide a clear picture of CET Counseling Process and will answer and clarify the common doubts regarding allotment of seats.  Eminent professors in the relevant professional fields are also invited to make this awareness programme, more interesting and informative, he added.

Pediatrics Department (KMC, Manipal) HoD Professor Dr Pushpa Kini, and Alumni, Public and International Relations, Manipal Institute of Technology Associate Director Professor Dr Jagannath K will address the gathering on prospects and challenges of pursuing a career in “Medical and allied field” and “Engineering field" respectively.

This will be followed by a short documentary show on “Profile of a Promising, Prospective Engineering Institution: SMVITM, Bantakal”.

Paryaya Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt seer Sri Vishwavallabhatheertha Swamiji will inaugurate the programme. It is also planned to provide infrastructural support (Computer Terminals with Internet Connection) to the needy students facilitating ‘Entry of Options for Admission Round through online (Internet)’ for seat allotment by KEA, at CAED Lab, First Floor, Administrative Block, Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi and also at Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust Office, Bhoovaraha Complex, Car Street, Udupi. This facility will be extended along with necessary guidance from 9 am to 5 pm on the specified days as announced by KEA free of cost, he said.
