A woman allegedly hanged her two children and later committed suicide at her house in Hesaraghatta on Tuesday night.
Soladevanahalli police gave the names of the victims as Renuka, 28, Karthik, 9, and Niveditha, 6.
Renuka was married to Umesh, a labourer from Hesaraghatta, for 10 years. Police said she was in the habit of quarrelling with her relatives, inlaws and parents over petty issues. This led to frequent fights between the couple.
On Tuesday evening, Renuka and Umesh had heated exchanges. After he left in a huff for a farmhouse nearby, she bolted the house on the first floor and hanged her children using sarees and later hanged herself from a ceiling fan.
Umesh returned around 8.45 pm and knocked the door, but there was no response. He broke open the door and found his wife and children hanging dead.
“Renuka has not left any death note. We do not know the reason for her to take the extreme step,” police added.
