A CISF assistant sub-inspector posted in West Bengal has alleged rape by a colleague in the Capital. The accused, a married constable, is yet to be arrested.

The victim is at present staying at CISF Colony in West Bengal’s Bardhaman district. Police said the woman claimed that she was repeatedly raped by Rajvir Singh Jakhar since they became friends in 2008 while posted at Central Industrial Security Force headquarters on Lodhi Road.

A case under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code was filed over the matter on Thursday. The victim has also complained to CISF and National Human Rights Commission. “It is alleged that Rajvir developed physical relations with the victim despite accepting that he was married,” a police officer said.
The woman was taken to different houses in central Delhi’s Gole Market and south-east Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin and Saket.

Rajvir later claimed he had made mobile clippings of them getting intimate, and began to blackmail her. During the period, the woman’s marriage was fixed with another colleague.

“They were scheduled to get married in July, 2009, but Rajvir also began to harass him,” the officer added. Due to continuous harassment, the collague decided to call off the wedding.

The victim then asked Rajiv to marry her, but he refused saying he was not ready to leave his wife and two children. He, however, claimed that he would marry her after retirement, according to the complaint.

A month after the wedding was called off, the victim’s father fixed her marriage with another man. They got married in April 2010, but Rajvir didn’t stop the harassment.
He allegedly managed to get her husband’s phone number and began harassing him as well. It led to the husband beating the victim and asking her to leave him after two months of their wedding.

Fed up with the mental and physical abuse, the victim complained to CISF. She was then transferred to West Bengal.

In her statement to police, the woman claimed that she was tortured to the point of considering suicide, the officer said.
