The City saw sudden showers on Tuesday evening taking many by surprise. The Weather department has predicted that the City would receive more such spells in the coming days.

“The City for another  two days, will see one or two spells of rain occurring in some areas,” observed the Weather department.

The City received about 8 mm of rainfall while the HAL airport area received 2.4 mm. The maximum temperature recorded in the City was 27 degree Celsius and the minimum was 20.9 Celsius.

The sudden showers left residents of many areas complaining of water entering their homes. Residents of Modi Road, DJ Halli claimed that the situation has been the same for more than 10 years now. Husna Bhani, a resident said: "Since a year, construction work is on at a nearby drain. That adds to the problem. The drainage system is not systematic in this neighbourhood. Some roads have no drainage chambers and that leads to water collecting there." The residents of Tippu Mohalla Road also faced the same problem, forcing the residents out of their homes.

When contacted Sampath Raj, corporator of the DJ Halli area, said, “Many lanes such as the Modi Road do not have underground drainage system and that causes the problem at DJ Halli.

“I have repeatedly informed BBMP chief engineer (storm water drain ) H C Ananthaswamy about this, but he pays no heed. I will be speaking to BBMP Commissioner M Lakshminarayana soon about this and tell him to visit the spot and ask the required action."

The Weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in certain areas of the State.
