Students aiming for seats in MBA and MCA courses in management colleges in the State appeared for the Karnataka Management Admission Test (KMAT) on Sunday. As many as 12,000 students had registered for the examination. The exam saw 90 per cent attendance.

The Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association conducts the examination for filling the management quota of seats in its member institutions. The exam was conducted at 19 centres in the State, including six in Bangalore.

In Bangalore alone, about 5,000 students had registered for the exam. Seshadripuram College and Mount Carmel College were among the examination centres here. Students who appeared for the exam found the question paper lengthy and many said they had a problem completing the paper.

“I would not say the paper was difficult, but it was lengthy. The part with logic and reasoning was tricky. In the last half hour, I kept guessing answers as there was simply no time to calculate or verify,” said a candidate who appeared for the exam at the Mount Carmel College centre. Several other students had a similar view on the paper and said they had no choice but to leave a few questions in the end. The results of the exam are expected on August 1.
