The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has relaunched the Postgraduate Programme in Software Enterprise Management (PGSEM) as the Postgraduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM).

A change to the decade-long programme was made in light of the “dynamic environment and the need for contemporary management practice,” according to a press release issued by the institution.

The programme is also new in the respect that it will now also be open to executives from service and other industrial sectors, besides software professionals — its primarily target earlier.

PGSEM alumni, senior managers from the corporate sector, students and the IIMB faculty helped in designing the programme.

“The PGPEM is an offering that emerged out of the diverse experiences of IIMB’s faculty in teaching corporate executives over the last few years,” said IIMB Director, Prof Pankaj Chandra.

Prof S Ramesh Kumar, chairperson of the programme, said, “Issues related to emerging markets, the digitised world and data management have become important managerial issues.” He hoped it would provide practising managers exposure to management concepts and to apply them to their real-time organisational experience.
