Last Updated 02 September 2013, 21:17 IST

Former Karnataka chief minister Sadananda Gowda met Gujarat chief minister and BJP election committee head Narendra Modi on Tuesday in Gandhinagar, the second such meeting between the two leaders in less than a month.

The meeting comes close on the heels of Karnataka Janata Party supremo B S Yeddyurappa indicating that he was ready for a tie-up with the Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections. It is understood that the two leaders discussed the issue of bringing back Lingayat strongman Yeddyurappa into the party-fold.

While Modi was not available for comments, Gowda claimed that the meeting discussed party’s internal affairs. Gowda said: “The meeting was with regard to the Karnataka BJP and the strategy for the next Lok Sabha elections. We had an hour-long meeting with Modi giving time for it.”
