Besides, he is the first Mayor to table the BBMP budget for two consecutive times. <br /><br />The records apart, Murthy was in the news for wrong reasons last year when the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force booked a cheating case against him and his wife Prabha, with regard to allotment of bagair hukum land in 2004.<br /><br /> Further, for seven months, he failed to check the embarrassing garbage crisis. After his one-year tenure, Murthy threatened to resign, saying he was reduced to a caretaker Mayor without any financial powers.</p>
