Court aquits 3 rape accused

Mangalore second Additional Court has acquitted three accused in the infamous gang rape at Kalanja in Sullia two years ago.

It was said that accused Kusumadhar, Lokesh and Puneeth had taken a minor girl who was waiting for the bus at Aivarnadu bus shelter, at Perlampady on October 15, 2011 and allegedly sexually assaulted her in a house.

Based on the cmplaint filed by her mother, the police had filed a FIR against the three. As the court had denied bail for the accused, they were inside the jail for one year 10 months.

As there was no proof against the accused, the court acquitted all the three.
