JOIN USTwo high school students who ventured to swim in Arakere lake met a watery grave in Bangalore North taluk on Tuesday.
The dead have been identified as Nagaraj and Manohar. They were studying in class X and IX respectively at Kakolu government high school.
According to police, three boys went to swim in the lake at around 11 am. Nagaraj and Manohar began to drown as they were stuck in the silt accumulated in the lake. The third boy ran back and alerted the villagers.
However, the two had drowned by the time local residents came to the rescue.
The bodies were retrieved with the help of personnel from Fire and Emergency Services and police. The autopsy was performed at the Yelahanka government hospital. The parents donated the eyes of the boys to Narayana Nethralaya.
