2 killed in bus-truck collision

The deceased have been identified as retired police officer Patil and his wife Kempamma.

According to the police, the bus was on its way to Hassan from Sindanur while the mini-truck was on its way from Arsikere to Kadur. The impact of the collision was such that the mini-truck turned turtle and the Patil couple who were travelling in the mini-truck died on the spot.

On the other hand, the KSRTC bus driver tried his best to avert the mishap and in the bid, lost control over the bus and collided against a roadside tree injuring more than 30 passengers.

All the injured have been admitted to Kadur government hospital while the 8 seriously injured have been admitted to Shimoga hospital.
