After working with Golden Star Ganesh in ‘Romeo’, director PC Shekar is coming together with Ganesh again in a yet-to be-titled project, which is touted to be a big budget action-thriller.

Perhaps, for the very first time in his career, Ganesh will be playing a double role in this project.

“Ganesh will be projected in two very distinct looks. The characters too won’t have any similarity. One is a positive role and the other will see Ganesh appear as a villain,” Shekar tells Metrolife.

Shekar began his career in the film industry with Kadhale En Kadhale and made inroads in the Kannada film industry with Nayaka. Shekar isn’t a Kannadiga but he has managed to make some good movies despite not knowing the language.

He has proved that one doesn’t really need to be fluent in a particular language to make a movie in it. “My beginning in the Kannada film industry wasn’t easy and it is still challenging for me to make a good and convincing movie. Cinema has taught me a lot,” Shekar notes.

About his latest project with Ganesh, Shekar says that he has been thinking about it for a while now. Shekar will be writing the story, screenplay and directing the movie as well.

“There are two different stories in the first half of the project. These two stories merge towards the second half and there’s another fresh story that is woven towards the end of the movie. I’ve never attempted anything like this before. It is indeed quite challenging,” he adds.

Some of the best technicians in the Tamil and Telugu film industries have been roped in for this project. He says that even his latest venture with Ganesh will not only have a lot of computer-generated graphics but one will get to see the work of some of the best technicians from the south.

The movie will be shot in Bangalore, Mysore and Madikeri in Coorg.

Shekar plans to rope in the heroine from another film industry. “This heroine has always wanted to work in the Kannada film industry but she never found the right script. But the young actress seemed to have liked this script and has given us a positive response,” Shekar signs off.
