Delicious dumplings of your choice

In recent times, a lot of carts selling momos have come up across the City. But only a few eateries dedicate themselves entirely to the steamed delight. One such place is Momomia in Indiranagar, which serves a variety of momos as well as other Chinese items.

Owner Amrita Dahal, whose husband chose the name for the eatery, informs that the traditional recipes from her hometown Kathmandu, Nepal, are used here. “Other than the momos that are prepared in the authentic way, we also make our own tomato sauce and chilli sauce, which are very popular. The USP of Momomia is a quick, tasty bite. Our combo meals, which are filling and affordable, are also fast-moving during lunch and dinner,” says Amrita, adding that the tagline of the place is ‘juicy momos with the indi twist’.

Vegetarians can enjoy a plate of steamed or fried momos or the recently added veg and cheese momos while non-vegetarians can go for steamed or fried chicken
momos. The portions of all the dishes are quite large and each plate of momos has 10 pieces, making for quite a sumptuous treat. Going by popular demand, Chinese dishes like fried rice, spring rolls, chowmein, chicken chilli, gobi manchurian
and Schezwan rice are also available.

There are also combo meals – the ‘veg snack combo’ has five momos and two spring rolls and the ‘veg meal combo’ includes fried rice and manchurian. The same options are available for non-vegetarians with chicken.

“All the items are freshly prepared and we cook the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food separately for purity. The busiest time for us is in the evenings, especially during weekends. We get a lot of college crowd and professionals, many of whom are regulars. A lot of North Indians also come here and try momos for the first time,” adds Amrita. She informs that there’s a 30 seconds service policy, implying that the food is served hot on the dot or given for free.
