Subhashini sets record, silver for Ranjana

Subhashini achieved 10.17 metres to erase the mark of 9.17 set by Athira M Dharan last year. Karnataka’s Ranjana N Bhadri claimed the silver with 8.91 metres.

Nikhil Neethin of Kerala also set a new record in boys under-14 shot put, reaching 13.41 metres to smash the mark of 12.48 set by S L Moorthy last year.

Karnataka had another medal on the opening day, a bronze, through Pradeep Patil in the 10000M for under-20 boys.
