2 lose lives in accidents

Two people, including a 53-year-old woman, were killed in separate accidents in the City since Tuesday night, police said.

Eshwar, 22, a resident of Ittamadu, was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus ran him over in Kumaraswamy Layout on Wednesday.

The victim was riding to Chikkalasandra when he tried to overtake the bus.
He lost control over the two-wheeler as it brushed against the heavy vehicle, and fell down. The rear wheel of the bus then ran him over, killing him instantly, the police explained.

The bus belongs to depot number 33 and its driver has been arrested. A case has been booked at the Kumaraswamy traffic police station. Saraswathi, 53, was riding pillion on her husband Ganesh’s two-wheeler when the latter lost control over the vehicle as a car brushed past it near a service road on Kammanahalli 5th Cross, Hennur Ring Road on Tuesday night.

Falls off motorcycle

Both Ganesh and Saraswathi then fell off the motorcycle. While Ganesh suffered minor injuries, Saraswathi had a head injury and was rushed to Sathya Hospital in Kammanahalli where she died of injuries an hour later, police said.

The couple lived in Bank Colony, Babusab Palya. The Banaswadi traffic police have registered a case.
