Salgaocar win to take top slot

Salgaocar moved back to the top of the I-League table with a clinical 2-0 victory against United SC at the Kalyani stadium on Sunday.

After Augustin Fernandes had given the lead for the Goan side in the 3rd minute, Milagres Gonsalves made sure of the points in the 86th minute.

 The win puts them at 13 points from six games – level on points with both Pune, who beat Rangdajied United 1-0, and Bengaluru FC, but are leading on account of a superior goal difference. Meanwhile, Pune FC continued their unbeaten run in the I-League as they registered a 1-0 win over Rangdajied United FC at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi on Sunday.

While BFC and Salgaocar have both played six games, Pune have played a game less.
Defender Calum Angus’ (30th minute) calm finish at the half-hour mark handed Pune FC a third consecutive win at home. The hosts took the lead at the half-hour mark after a quick corner on the right from winger Nikhil Kadam to Ivorian Douhou led the latter to lay-off for Calum outside the box in the center and his powerful low drive beat Rangdajied ‘keeper Shambhu Mistry for his second goal in as many matches.

Mohd Sporting win

Josimar’s brace helped Mohammedan Sporting score a 3-1 win over Sporting Clube de Goa at the Duler stadium on Sunday.

Mohammedan Sporting who led 1-0 at half-time scored through Josimar (32nd, 89th) and substitute Ajay Singh (71st).

Sporting Clube de Goa pulled one back through Boima Karpeh in the 58th minute to narrow the deficit.

The win takes Mohammedan Sporting to sixth place with seven points from six matches.  Sporting Clube de Goa remained on fifth place with 10 points from six matches.  Sporting Clube play Pune FC in their next match on November 2.
