A group of unidentified persons, said to be affiliated to a regional political group, who had tried to disrupt a recording of the martial-arts television programme Super Fight League (SFL), was forced to retreat after facing stiff opposition in the famous Filmalaya Studio in western suburb of Andheri late on Saturday night.

During the event, promoted by actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, around 25-30 people, after vandalising vehicles parked outside the studio, barged in and tried to molest some girls.

“However, security guards put up a stiff opposition and the intruders were forced to take to their heels. We are investigating the allegations made by receptionist Tejashree Mohite that the intruders were were affiliated to the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and that they wanted money from the event's producer Anil Chauhan,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dattatray Jadhav.
