 He had a roll number in the ICSE examination that spells trouble for others in the fictional world: 007.

Shashank Krishnamurthy, son of V V Krishnamurthy and K Srividya, scored an overall percentage of 98 this year in his 10th standard examination. “I also felt that the roll number was a good sign,” said a beaming Shashank.

A student at Sri Kumaran High School, Shashank owes his success to his school and his parents. “The school conducted review tests every week that helped me quite a lot,” he said.
A quizzer in his free time, Shashank intends to enter the realm of engineering, but has not thought of which stream. “I am going to IIT and will then take it from there,” he said. Nonetheless, the boy in the long run wishes to become a researcher.

Speaking about Shashank’s success, his mother said that it was no surprise for them that their ward would fare well at the examinations. “We knew that he would score well, it was just the competition that has us excited,” said a proud Srividya.

Another topper from the city, Sriradha Chatterjee, who scored 97.5 from Clarence High School, had also prepared her future course in life by wanting to pursue medicine. “I would like to become a surgeon. Perhaps  also go abroad for further studies,” she adds.
There was a lot of excitement among students at the Sishu Griha High School when they scrolled down on their score cards.This year the management was delighted to announce that two toppers were in close competition to each other by a difference of 0.8 per cent.
The topper was then selected to be Utsav Rai with 96.83 per cent followed closely by Ashwathy Chandran with 96.5 per cent, after scrutinising the score cards. The next best percentage holder was Ashwin Baliga with 95.3 per cent and his luck fetched him a seat in CMR National Junior College.

Ashwathy wants to pursue Bio-Technology in Mumbai, while Ashwitha Ravi who got 94.83 per cent wants to join NPS (National Public School). A few students, who have expressed their opinion with a lot of joy are Aditya with 93 per cent and Ashwin with 94 per cent.
Some students who took up Hindi as their second language felt that their aggregate declined because they hadn't done well in it.

Elsewhere in the city, Bishop Cotton Boys High School saw a 100 per cent result with all the boys getting through. Ajay Singh topped his school with a score of  97.29. Bhavik Ranka who stood 3rd with 95.29 per cent said that most of his friends felt that they had performed above their expectation and were elated with the results.  
 The institution’s Girls High School saw nearly 82 per cent of its students score a distinction. Of the 226 students, the Bishop Cotton Girls High School saw 34 students score an overall percentage of above 90 per cent.

CBSE achievers

On the other hand, Army Public School also was on a jolly ride as their topper N Naga Deepika portrayed an outstanding performance by scoring 94.8 per cent in the Science stream and a close Sourabh Khanduri scoring 94 per cent. Deepika Singh Yadav topped the Commerce stream by scoring 86.6 per cent.

While at Sri Kumaran Children’s Home (SKCH), Chetan S scored 95.60 per cent followed by Shruthi Sreenath with 95.40 per cent and Samarth Hegde scored 94.80 per cent in science stream. In commerce stream at SKCH, Vinodhini Srinivasan has scored 95 per cent followed by Anala Narayan with 94.60 and Srikanth V with 93.80 per cent.

In Delhi Public School, South, Gaurav Dave has scored 95.80 per cent followed by Inessa Chowdhury Sherbakova with 93.80 per cent and Pushpa R Iyer with 92.20 per cent in science stream.
