<p> Three persons were killed and over 20 sustained injuries when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus fell off the road into a farm land, on the Sagar-Jog road near Joginmutt in the taluk, on Friday morning.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Kiran Timmegowda, 33, a resident of Kumta, Nilesh Gopal Walke, 26, a resident of Mastikatte in Honnavar taluk and Masthemma Bhairugoud, 60, of Antaralli village in the taluk, are the dead.<br /><br />Five of the 20 passengers injured in the accident are being treated at the Sagar government hospital while the rest have been discharged after administering first aid.<br /><br />New to route<br /><br />According to the police, the bus driver, who was relatively new to the route, lost control of the vehicle at a turn that led to the accident. The Kumta-bound bus was arranged to clear the festival rush.<br /></p>
