Budding rowdies clash

»In a fight between ‘budding’ rowdies in Prakashnagar area in the City, 19-year-old Anil was attacked by four boys from a rival gang with machetes, on Wednesday night.

He was hacked several times by the assailants. Anil had allegedly achieved notoriety by threatening people. Unable to put an end to his activities, Anil’s mother had asked him to leave Prakashnagar and move in with his brother, Karthik in Gowripalya.

But on Wednesday, while visiting his mother, Anil was attacked by four assailants, in their early adulthood. Karthik was involved in a fight with the gang four months ago. In retaliation, the gang had come to kill Karthik, but ended up attacking Anil.

In the ensuing fight, two motorists were also injured. “One motorist was hit by the machete aimed at Anil,” the police said.

Anil has been admitted to K C General Hospital. “Though, Anil has given us the names of the assailants, he is unable to identify them now,” said the police. The assailants are alleged to be from Mariappanpalya.

Man dies in suicide pact

»A married man along with his girlfriend consumed poison at Goshala in Mahadevpura. Kishore died while Dimple is battling for life.

The police said, Kishore (35) was into pawn broking business in Domlur. He was married six years ago and had two children. A few years ago, he got close to his relative Dimple (22). After foreseeing trouble in settling down with Dimple, the two decided to kill themselves and entered into a suicide pact.

Man stabbed to death

»A 35-year old man was stabbed to death in Sunkenhalli in Hanumanthnagar on Wednesday evening. The victim, Devraj, president of the local unit of Jai Karnataka, was stabbed by six assailants on the streets of Hanumanthnagar.

Depressed woman ends life

»A depressed woman hanged herself at her Heganahalli residence in Rajagopal Nagar on Tuesday. The deceased, Mamatha (25), a native of Mandya, was depressed as she was unable to conceive, the police said.

Fake currency notes recovered 

»A youth was arrested for circulating fake Rs 500 notes in Yeshwanthpur on Wednesday. Santosh, a native of Jharkhand, was arrested and Rs 16,500 fake currency was seized from him.

Around 9.30 am, Santosh approached Jayalaxmi Medical on Triveni Road and flashed a Rs 500 note and requested for change. On refusal, he asked for some cosmetics. The owner got suspicious and on checking, he came to know that it was a fake currency.

Immediately, he alerted the police. During interrogation, he admitted that he was working for a commission of Rs 250 each for Rs 500. He had Rs 2,000 in his pocket and the rest tucked in his socks. He confessed to have got the consignment from one Aryan, who in turn gets it from Nepal.

Rowdy, associates behind bars

»The CCB police have arrested notorious rowdy Mulama and his associates. The arrested were - Lokesh alias Mulama (47) of Rajagopal Nagar, Janardhan alias Huchappa (24), R Ravikumar alias Ravi (32) - both from Srirampuram, Shafi (26) of Peenya II Stage and T Suresh alias Suri (22) of Jalahalli.

Mulama, a rowdysheeter in Rajagopal Nagar, is facing more than 15 criminal cases, including two murders, two attempt-to-murders and extortion. Apart from that, Mulama is involved in many civil disputes in and around Karihobanahalli. He had bought umpteen four-wheelers in his associates’ names and used it for criminal activities.
