As the US President has been travelling to Asia for more than a week now, elaborate preparations are on at the White House to welcome his first State Guest on November 24.

It is not only the menu of the dinner, but also the entertainment would have a personal imprint of the First family of the United States; who has taken utmost care to make sure that their guest feel at home and is given a memorable dinner.

The speech too on the occasion by Obama, is expected to be reflective of the values and ideology of the US President, but also of his impression about India and Indian American. The speech writers are still putting the text together and Obama is expected to make reference to the great people of India, to it's history of non-violence, peace, moderation and democracy and the ideals that Mahatma Gandhi has espoused.

The State Dinner in itself would acknowledge the contribution of the Indian American community – a large number of who have been invited for the event. Given that not all can be accommodated in the traditional dining room; a huge white tent would be pitched on the South Lawn of the White House.

Media reports said that about 400 people have been invited for the dinner. It would also be an occasion to acknowledge the contribution of large number of Indian Americans in the development of the country. Obama has appointed the largest number of Indian Americans in his administration, all of whom have been invited for the dinner.
