Former Gujarat leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil has levelled serious allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, adding fuel to the ongoing snooping controversy.

“ I can confidently say that this snooping and surveillance followed Modi’s fear,” the Congress leader said. “Not long before the surveillance, Modi and the girl were on great terms but something went dangerously wrong and Modi was scared,” he added.

“Scared that the girl may expose something. Before a compromise was struck, surveillance was ordered on her,” Gohil went on.

Alleging that the girl and her family derived undue benefit from the state government, he sought to know “whether a company with which this girl or her family have been associated has been given any benefits? The chief minister should clarify whether any company associated with the woman or her family has been given work in the Gandhinagar grid project, which is for solar energy, without tender.” The Congress leader also demanded that the Gujarat government declare all the projects it had doled out to the girl and her family, alleging that “besides recommending her to top industrial houses of Gujarat, multi-crore government projects have been dished out to the family.
