Spectrum scam: Jayalalitha nails Raja

Last Updated 21 November 2009, 17:28 IST

Opposition leader in the Tamil Nadu Assembly and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalitha on Saturday released a set of seven documents which she reasoned “clearly show that Union Telecom Minister A Raja acted in a dubious manner in the allocation of 2-G spectrum” to mobile operators, during the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA)  regime.

This comes close on the heels of Jayalalitha writing to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on November 18, reiterating her party’s demand to “immediately divest” Raja of the telecom portfolio and urging that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe should be widened to cover other top leaders of the Dravida Munnnetra Kazhagam (DMK) , an ally of the Congress at the Centre, who had allegedly benefited from the scam.
