The State government will take an appropriate decision on “made snana”, the ritual of devotees rolling over plantain leaves with leftover food at Kukke Subrahmanya temple, following the verdict of the Supreme Court on the issue, Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Anjaneya pointed out that at present Supreme Court has ordered status quo on the ‘made snana’.
“It is an inhuman ritual. Seers, non-governmental organisations and progressive thinkers should step up efforts to change the mindset of the people who believe in such rituals,” the minister said.
