The meeting was attended by elected representatives, members of the public and various associations and organisations.<br /><br />The construction of the Hubli-Ankola railway line will ensure not just the development of Uttara Kannada district, but also the development of the entire North Karnataka region. <br /><br />The proposed rail route will not only be environment-friendly, but also boost social and economic activities. It will prove profitable to the tourism industry and will be financially viable for the mining industry.<br /><br />The minister requested the members of the Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee to submit a report that would facilitate the early implementation of the rail project. Assurance from CEC<br /><br />The CEC, consisting of its chairman P V Jayakrishnan, said that all matters related to the implementation of the proposed railway line would be taken into consideration and a suitable report would be submitted to the Supreme Court.<br /><br />The meeting received appeals and memorandums from the representatives of the various associations and organisations on the occasion.</p>
