Belekeri ore theft MLA's son arrested

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested Vivek Hebbar, the son of a Congress MLA from Yellapur in Uttara Kannada district, in connection with the Belekeri port iron ore export scam.

Another person, Prakash Hegde, a close relative of the Hebbars’ was also arrested in connection with the case.

Hebbar and Hegde were summoned to the CBI office, Ganganagar in Bangalore, and arrested when they turned up.
