RTO to observe air pollution control month

On Nov 25, a debate on the topic ‘Effects of the Air Pollution’ has been organised at the Madhugiri’s Government Pre-University College, said RTO Officer M P Omkareshwari.
She was speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday. The camp has been jointly organised by district surgeons, A team from Manipal Hospital, Belli Blood Bank, Police Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department and J C Metro.

A free health check-up camp and information workshop is scheduled to be held at ‘Chilume’ on Barline road on November 26, She said. Accident Relief Fund registration drive has also been organised on the same day, she added.

Free surgery would be done on drivers if they are found of have eye ailments. Along with this blood, diabetes, BP, ECG and other medical tests would be conducted. A ‘Personality Development and Stress Management’ camp for drivers has also been jointly organised by Emission Test Centres, Retrofitment Centres and Gas Refuelling Centres, Omkareshwari said.

A drawing competition for children on the effects on air pollution as been organised at RTO office on morning of November 29. In the afternoon a essay competition on the role of people in reducing the air pollution has also been organised.

A cycle jatha by school children has been organised on the morning of November 30. RTO Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, SP and other officials will take part in the jatha.
