Pavan C, 8th standard student of The Orchids Public School, Mysore, has secured second place in the 6th ACA All India FIDE rated Chess tournament 2013 ( below 1600 FIDE ranking) held at Trivandrum recently.
He won a cash prize of Rs 15,000 by securing the second place. Pavan’s present FIDE ranking is 1597.
By securing second in the tourney, his rating has improved by 23 points with this win. Out of nine matches, Pavan won seven. About 267 players of different age groups ranked below 1600 from as many as 10 States participated.
