The Hebbal-based Bethel AG Church, which is organising the National Christian Prayer Conference 2014 from January 15, has said the conference was not a Benny Hinn event, but a prayer programme for all Christian leaders from across the country.

The pastor of the church, Johnson V, clarified on Friday that “those who organised a Hinn event in Bangalore in 2005 are not part of the event to be held from January 15 to 19, at Supernova Arena, Yelahanka.” The event is only for registered Christian community delegates who need to pay a fee of at least Rs 500.

The church is not aware of any cases pending against any of the five speakers, including M A Varughese, Paul Dhinakaran, Johnson V, Hinn and Chris Oyakhilome,” Johnson said, reacting to demands by Hindu groups that Hinn should be barred from entering the City and arrested soon after his arrival.

The event is a unique conference of Indian Christiandom uniting all Christian denominations from all states and union territories representing all language groups. “This is not a public programme. This is not a healing programme.

This conference is fully organised by the Bethel AG Church,” he stated. Johnson also claimed that when Hinn first visited India in 2005, it was the then NDA government that issued him a visa. Though Hinn held a huge healing crusade in Mumbai, Shiva Sena did not oppose it.
