One of the popular faces of Sandalwood, Sindhu Loknath is working in several films this year. She is keeping her fingers crossed about her upcoming films — Prachanda, Nan Life Alli and Endendu Ninagaagi — among others which are slated to release this year especially since her last release, ‘Coffee With My Wife’, failed to create waves at the box office.

Sindhu is still trying to figure out what went wrong. “I don’t know what the problem was. The film went off screens two weeks after it hit theatres. I really hope that my films this year do better especially as many big movies of Sudeep and Darshan are lined up for release at the same time.”

But she is not letting the disappointment of last year come in the way of her work this year. She has now pinned all her hopes on ‘Love In Mandya’. All praises for popular lyricist Arasu Anthare, who is making his debut as a director with this film, Sindhu says that she has given her best shot. “When I’m allowed to do what I want, I do the best. I have to thank my director who gave me the chance to portray the character the way I wanted to. That way, I have been able to add colour to my character. I didn’t have any boundaries.”

Happy that her suggestions were considered for the film, Sindhu says, “I usually don’t interfere with the script and direction unless the directors ask me for suggestions and new ideas.” Talking from her personal experience, Sindhu goes on to reveal, “This is one of the rare cases where there haven’t been strict boundaries. Usually we have to do exactly what the director says, especially if they are well-known.

Sometimes, it gets really tough because we have to keep in mind our dialogues and other minute-to-minute instructions. With so many demands, it becomes difficult to concentrate. We almost become robotic.” Ask her to name the films with which she has faced this issue and Sindhu says, “I’m not going to tell the name. All I’m going to say is that in one of the films, I faced this problem because I had to do exactly what the director wanted.”
