'Suggi-Huggi' cultural fest on Jan 16

The Department of Kannada and Culture will launch “Suggi-Huggi” a State-level cultural festival that will highlight rural folk and traditions on January 16.

According to a press release from the office of the Minister of State for Kannada and Culture Umashree, the festival will be held in all 30 districts and will culminate with the Ugadi festival on March 31. The programme will encourage rural artistes to tap their talents and art. The programme will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddarmaiah at Ravindra Kalakshetra at 6 pm in Bangalore on January 16.
