He would also steal money from another employer

The accused, Sada alias Sadananda of Madivala, is a native of P Kallinakuppe in Hosanagar taluk of Shimoga district. He came to Bangalore a few years ago and worked with Banashankari, Banaswadi, High Grounds and Electronic City traffic police. He was attached to Cheetah squad, which tows away vehicles for violating traffic rules.
Later, Sada turned into a vehicle lifter and was involved in thefts in Madivala, JP Nagar and other areas. He sold the stolen bikes in Hosanagar after changing the number plates.

He quit the job and became a security guard at a cellphone service provider’s shop in BTM Layout. There too he took to stealing money from the safe. Lifting Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 each time, he managed to take out around Rs 20 lakh. He quit the job once the theft came to light.

Valuables stolen

Valuables worth Rs 2.25 lakh were stolen from a house in Chandra Layout police limits on Wednesday night.

Manimekala of Jyothinagar was fast asleep when the thieves opened the front door through a window adjacent to the door. They locked the room where Manimekala was sleeping and decamped with jewellery and other valuables, said the police.
In another incident, a woman was assaulted by the burglars while escaping after looting her house in Jnanabharathi police limits on Wednesday evening.
Indrani Murthy and her daughter Shwetha were returning home after a walk around 6.45 pm when they saw two men coming out of their house on 2nd Main Road, Phase II in Nagarbhavi. Indrani Murthy grew suspicious and tried to catch them. The accused attacked her with knife and fled the scene with valuables including jewellery, the police said.

Vehicle lifters held

Police have arrested two vehicle lifters and recovered six cars and eight two-wheelers from them. Jovins (24) and Bright Joseph (26), hailing from Kerala's Idukki district and residing at J P Nagar 8th Phase, used to lift cars and two-wheelers parked in front of houses and later sell them off in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The duo was involved in 14 cases of vehicle lifting at Mico Layout, Thilaknagar, Subramanyapura, Vijayanagar, Bannerghatta, Banashankari and Electronic City. Their associate Shamsuddin is absconding.
