Sporty pullover gets casual chic

Considered as ‘cool’ among college-going students, the ‘sweatshirt’ is becoming the new fashion statement this season.

The outfit has gone to a whole new level of ‘cool’ with prints and embellishments. Hollywood celebrities like Gisele Bundchen, Jessica Alba, and others on several occasions have shown how versatile the sporty pullover can be this season.

“The printed sweatshirt has emerged as a high fashion hero piece for both men and women these days. The rise of animal and camouflage prints, sitting nicely alongside paisley and floral have become a latest trend of fashion,” says designer Mayyur Girotra.

“Animal patterns have been featured throughout various collections and style-books already. Other popular prints worthy of a hanger or two are aztec and paisley prints,” he adds.

Designer Neeru Kumar, explains how sweatshirts can be teamed with different outfits for a casual yet smart look.  “When it comes to sweatshirts, you can team up all types of lower. Be it jeans, trousers or skirts, it can be paired with everything,”
says Neeru.

Pair printed sweatshirt with printed legging but do ensure the print doesn’t look heavy by any chance. Team it up with A line skirt. If you are bit experimental, go for striped skirt too.

If you are daring and believes in going for an unconventional way , wear a long sweatshirt as a dress. Add more drama to it by going for dark lipsticks and junk jewellery.

You can flaunt a sophisticated look with a sweatshirt paired with tailored trousers and pumps. Enamoured by the ‘model look,’ go for a mini skirt and loafers or contrast that casual sweatshirt with something seductive like a sheer muslin skirt. You can go for a glamourous look too by choosing sequin-sleeved sweatshirt.

Also, play up with sweatshirts for a cool-girl like vibe. Pair it with denims and leather ankle boots.
