Addressing the session Vidyashankar provided insights into various measures taken by the department for making governance easy through the adoption of Information Technology.
He said the department is planning to launch State Wide area network (SWAN) connecting about 2,300 offices across the state by December 7, 2009.
“We are planning to implement Bangalore One service across the State by December 31, as Karnataka One, and also planning to integrate two e-governance initiative Bhoomi and Kaveri,” he said. Further, he said the third and fourth phase of BPO for disabled will come up in Shimoga and at Chickanayakanahalli in Tumkur shortly.
