She is bubbly and has an infectious laugh. Parineeti Chopra has gained prominence within just three years of her entry in Bollywood and considers herself to be in a league of her own!

In the City to promote her upcoming film Hasee Toh Phasee, Parineeti spoke to Metrolife on her friendship with Alia among other things.

“I don’t consider anyone in the industry as competition,” she declares. When prodded further about her rivalry with Alia Bhatt, she exclaims, “I don’t know why people think we are competitors. In fact, I can never think of her that way. We are great friends.” She adds, “Anyway as an actress, I have so many areas that I have to work on.”
Recalling her debut film ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, where she shared screen space with five other actors, she says she was lucky to be spotted in the film.

“I knew for sure that the role was great. It’s the character that got recognised. And what was even better was that I also won many awards for it,” explains Parineeti. Ask her about the relationship she shares with her superstar cousin, Priyanka Chopra and she says, “We hardly talk about work. Most of our conversations are about personal things. Of course if I need help, I turn to her and call her.”

In her short career, Parineeti has already been paired with Ranveer Singh twice. First, in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ and now, the upcoming Kill Dil. “Ranveer and I share a special bond. From the time I was into marketing till my entry in Bollywood and now, he has always been there and it has just been wonderful. In fact, we are both quite similar and our energy levels are equally high.”

She adds, “I can’t wait for the release of Kill Dil when we will be seen together again.” The actress who has locked lips with most of her co-stars like Arjun Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and now, Sidharth Malhotra (in Hasee Toh Phasee), says, “Although several reel-life romances have turned real, that’s not the case with me. I just do it for the cameras.”

The actress, who doesn’t visit the City often, says that she can’t have enough of it. “I love it. It’s so peppy and energetic. Mumbai is nothing compared to this.” Waiting for the release of Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil, scheduled for this year, Parineeti says, “I really want to come here again for promotions.”

But at the moment, the actress has her hopes pinned on Hasee Toh Phasee. “Bangalore is young, happening and energetic. I have no doubts that Bangaloreans will connect to the film and love it,” she signs off.
