<p>The police would open fire at “anti-social elements” seen indulging in violence and causing damage to public property and harming persons, District Superintendent of Police Pradip Kumar told reporters here on Thursday.<br /><br />The miscreants had damaged the windscreens of government and private-owned buses in Cuddalore, Vriddhachalam, Nellikuppam and Panruti, besides torching two DMK offices housed in thatched sheds in the region during the past two days.<br /><br />Around 13 buses belonging to the state-owned transport corporations had been damaged in violence in the district, police said.<br /><br />Both government and private night bus services to rural areas have been stopped since Wednesday in the district. A group of unidentified persons forced shop owners to down shutters in Cuddalore, Nellikuppam and Vriddhachalam areas on Wednesday evening.</p>
