They are ‘beauties’ of their own world. Their ‘curves’ and ‘perfect attitude’ not only make them a hit with boys but also among the girls, while their ‘colour’ and ‘moves’ make the crowd go crazy!

But, wait! We are not talking about models or Bollywood actors here...we are talking about the latest ‘mean machines’ displayed during the 12th Auto Expo, held at Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

Attracting a huge crowd and the maximum number of youngsters was the Harley Davidson section. Featuring some of the swankiest bikes, HD proved to be the biggest crowd puller among the two-wheel beauties on display. Adding to the mood and energy was the rock band, Heavens Down. The loud beats of the drums and the ‘lust have’ bikes like Street 750, Screaming Eagle, Street Gline and Liquid Cool were enough reasons for bike enthusiasts to move out of the bike pavillion and make way for others. The scene was chaotic to say the least with even the bouncers deployed to guard the Harleys’ failing to manage bike-frenzied people, who were literally falling on the machines to take photographs.

Next to the Harleys was the Honda section which managed to get the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, to come and inaugurate ‘Goldwing’, a fully computer-controlled digital transistorised bike with electronic advance. British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph too had its share of fame with ‘Rocket 111’, a 2294 cc bike. It also launched Daytona 675, which is expected to give a competitive edge to other companies within the super-sports segment of the market.

If bike lovers had enough options at the Auto Expo, car lovers were not disappointed too. India’s renowned car design house, DC design unveiled ‘Eleron’, which is
an open sports utility vehicle (SUV) worth Rs 35 lakhs and ‘Tia’, a two-seater car for town use worth Rs 18 lakhs, unveiled by Bollywood diva,
Kareena Kapoor Khan. Along with these two, it had ‘Avanti’, which was launched at the last Auto Expo.

Among other luxury automobile car companies unveiling their productions were the BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, etc. Green,
orange, red, white – car lovers were in for a treat for sure! The event was made even more colourful with the arrival of celebrities to endorse one or the other automotive brands. BMW brought the legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar to unveil
the luxury hybrid car, BMW i8. Priyanka Chopra came to endorse Jaguar Range Rover’s muscle SUV and Range Rover LWB.

Mercedes-Benz introduced the first ‘Compact Performance Car’, CLA 45 AMG,
creating a new segment.

It also showcased the safest SUV, the M-Guard Special Protection and teased people with the much-awaited ‘Compact Luxury SUV-GLA Class. Whereas German luxury car maker Audi unveiled its much-awaited sedan A3 which will be formally launched in the domestic market by mid-2014.

Other car giants like Jaguar showcased its Project 7 F-Type. South Korean brand, Hyundai unveiled its HND-9 Sports Coupe Concept, Renault India unveiled its flamboyant concept car, KWID Concept, Honda introduced the Vision XS-1, which has a spacious interior and can seat up to seven people. It comes with sliding doors with large openings on both sides.

All in all, the 12th Auto Expo was a sure shot hit barring the unmanageable
crowd at the venue.
