The gathering was way different from any other party in town. For once, everything started on time and went on schedule, “It’s a German thing. They are very particular on time,” said one of the guests. But when they did get stuck in the lift for a while, the star of the evening Twinkle Khanna lightened the mood saying, “Tell them it’s an Indian thing. Such things happen all the time.”

The gorgeous Twinkle still managed to attract the shutterbugs. But even before she set foot in the City the journos were strictly asked to keep away ‘personal questions’ (especially with regard to the Shilpa Shetty wedding). So the actress-turned-interior designer strutted around admiring what the brand had to offer the City. “I love the finishing and the quality the product offers,” she explained.

The launch saw their brand new furnished kitchen designed especially for men by Porche. “The heart of any house is the bedroom, the bathroom and the kitchen. Through this new design, we have included  user-friendly items and an in-built music system to make it a more enjoyable experience,” said Elmar Duffner, Managing Director, Poggen Pohl.

The guests were then led to a tight but open terrace for a live-cooking demo by Chef Manu Chandra. His witty remarks and participation of the guests made the demo an enjoyable one. The aromas even worked up an appetite for many. The fashionably latecomers were welcomed by the hypnotic tunes of percussionist/drummer Sivamani but Twinkle had left by then. Sivamani, who was accompanied by Uduppa on the Ghatam and Sanjeev T on the guitar, played a wonderful fusion into the night making it a perfect start to the weekend.
