Two teens found dead near rly track

Two class 12 students, a boy and a girl, were found dead near the railway track at Doddanekkundi, off Varthur, on Friday night.

The body of the boy was found under the nearby bridge while that of the girl was near the tracks. 

The police suspect that the two were struck by a moving train. However, they were yet to ascertain whether the death was caused due to an accident or the duo had committed suicide.

The deceased had been identified as Prem Chand, a student of St John’s College and Anjitha Krishna of Kendriya Vidyalaya. The boy was a resident of Madhuranagar in Varthur and the girl was staying with her parents at Doddanekkundi.

According to police, Prem and Anjitha together went to tuition class on Friday night. Anjitha’s father approached the HAL police since she did not return home even after 8 pm.

Meanwhile, the police rushed near Doddanekkundi railway bridge junction on receiving the information of a boy’s body lying nearby. Anjitha’s parents also went to the spot and identified the body as that of Prem Chand. The police then started searching for Anjitha's body and found it near the track.

The police said the incident might have taken place around 7.30 pm. No death note was found at the spot. Asked whether the boy and girl were in love, the police, quoting the parents of the deceased, said that Prem and Anjitha were good friends. 

Woman murdered

A 21-year old woman was found dead with her throat slit in her house in Amanibyarthi Khaane in Hennur police limits on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Sonichitha Bhagdi, a native of West Bengal.

Police said Sonichitha and her husband Ganga Bhagdi had come to City a couple of months ago and Ganga worked as a carpenter. They had shifted to the house just five days ago. 

On Friday, Ganga returned home around 9.30 pm and found his wife lying down with her throat slit. The one-year-old baby girl of the couple was sitting near her mother while household articles were found strewn on the floor. Hennur police have registered a case.

Youths drown in lake

Two youths drowned in M Hosahalli lake in Bagalur on Saturday afternoon.

Police said Dileep, 17, and Girish, 13, both residents of M Hosahalli, were fishing in the lake when they drowned. A few passersby went to their rescue on hearing their cries for help, but to no avail. They alerted the police immediately.
