Music-lovers couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The ‘Alive India in Concert’, featuring up-and-coming musicians —  Zublee Baruah, Nakash Aziz and Armaan Malik — entertained the audience with peppy songs. The show was held at Phoenix MarketCity recently.

Before the event started, some members of the audience went up the stage to sing and dance. The power-packed evening began with Assamese singer Zublee Baruah’s rendition. Beginning with an Assamese folk song, she sure kept the audience entertained. A Mangalorean, Nakash Aziz, who was here for the show from Mumbai, said, “It’s my first performance in Bangalore and I am nervous as to how the audience will respond.” He added, “The music scene is great here and people are honest about their views. It’s going to be a surprised-filled evening for the audience.” The members of the audience cheered as Nakash sang foot-tapping numbers including Pungi, Dhating Naach and Saree Ke Fall Sa.

Armaan Malik, nephew of popular singer Anu Malik, who shot to fame with Toh Aana Hi Tha from the Salman Khan starrer Jai Ho, also performed for the first time in Bangalore. “The evening ahead is going to be filled with surprises. I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to the Kannada song that I have reserved as my last piece,” said Armaan, adding, “It’s going to be a fun-filled evening.”

Youngsters who gathered at the venue early for the show were an impressed lot. “It’s good to see hear new voices and new styles. It was a refreshing change to listen to them. It’s a different experience to listen to live performances. However, I was a bit disappointed that it started really late. But once it did start, I was glad I waited,” said Shreya, a member of the audience. Anita, who was shopping at the mall along with her friends but decided to attend the show, said, “I just happened to pass by. It seemed liked it was fun, especially since it was interactive with the audience also being given a chance to showcase their talents. From what I’ve seen of the first performance so far, I see that it’s something different. An energetic performance I would say.”  Raghav, who also watched a part of the show added, “I came for one of the previous shows. And there is an interesting mix of artistes.”
