<p>The High Court on Saturday dismissed the petition challenging the award of tender to concrete the Shiradi Ghat stretch connecting Bangalore and Mangalore.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The petitioner, Gokuldas Bhandarkar Constructions Limited, had moved the High Court stating that the contract has been awarded in violation of norms as there were last- minute changes in the tender process. <br /><br />Challenging the Rs 46- crore tender, the petitioners also contended that the tender to construct the road was awarded to a firm not qualified to participate in technical bid. The petitioner further contended that despite being qualified for tenders as the lowest bidder, they were left out. <br /><br />Justice A S Bopanna, who heard the matter, dismissed the petition stating that the last minute change in tender rules is not a violation and is in public interest.</p>
