DSS demands widening of roads in Bagepalli

 
Traffic came to standstill and long queues of vehicles were seen as the DSS activists resorted to rasta roko for over two hours. They alleged that the PWD officials, bowing to political pressure were dilly-dallying to take up road widening work despite an order from the High Court alleged, DSS leader B V Venkataravana.

Several accidents are being caused due to narrow roads and public are being put into hardship due to inordinate delay in road widening. Public welfare is being sacrificed to safeguard private interest of few individuals, he alleged, threatening to file contempt cases against the authorities concerned, if the road widening is not taken up.
