<p>The nomination of Harsha Moily, the son of Union Minister M Veerappa Moily, to contest in the primaries to elect the Congress candidate for the Dakshina Kannada seat, has been rejected, said returning officer Preniel Nair.<br /><br /></p>.<p>With this, former union minister B Janardhana Poojary and senior Congress leader U K Monu have remained in the fray.<br /><br />While Harsha was not available for comment, Moily’s close aide Tejomaya said Harsha’s candidature has been rejected as he is not a voter in the constituency (he is a voter in Bangalore).<br /><br />On the other hand, the returning officer said that AICC has rejected Moily’s candidature as he (Harsha) has not fulfilled the criteria for poll aspirants, especially involvement in social activities.<br /><br />Harsha, in an e-mail to mediapersons, said that his candidature has not been rejected, but the authorities concerned have sought more details.<br /><br />Voters’ list<br /><br />As there is no provision for withdrawal of nominations, the polls to elect a candidate will be held on March 9. Nair said that the voters’ list for the primaries will be published on March 3 (Monday).</p>
