Cong corporator complains against Ramdas, brother

In what could put the embattled former minister S A Ramdas and his brother Srikanthdas into more trouble, a Congress corporator has lodged a complaint seeking probe against the brothers at the office of Regional Commissioner M V Jayanthi.

Corporator S Umamani representing ward 11 in the Mysore City Corporation and Harish a fellow party worker lodged the complaint in the month of January. The matter came to light late on Tuesday.

Following the complaint, Regional Commissioner M V Jayanthi has written to eight departments through the office of deputy commissioner seeking information in relation to the issue.

Umamani told Deccan Herald, the brothers have cheated many innocent people by buying lands to a paltry sum, only to make a windfall out of it. Ess and Ess Infrastructure Private Limited owned by Srikanthdas is indulged in such dubious dealings in the last seven years, amassing at least Rs 24,000 crore.

Deputy Commissioner C Shikha who has received a missive from the office of regional commissioner recently, told this paper, the latter has asked eight departments to furnish the related information. The deputy commissioner being the head of revenue department is yet to furnish the information along with other departments.
