Regulate parking of vehicles

People quarrelling for parking spaces in residential areas is becoming very common. Vehicles are being parked wherever there is some space, even in front of somebody’s house, causing nuissance. With most households having more number of vehicles than the parking space available on their premises, this problem will only increase in future.
It may aggravate if the authorities concerned do not initiate measures to regulate parking.

Desilt sewage lines

The sewage lines in KR Puram are rarely cleaned. This was brought to the notice of the authorities concerned but no action has been taken till now. Even if desilted, the sullage is deposited near the sewage which again fall into the sewage lines. Since the lines are clogged manholes overflow and sewage inundates the road. The matter has been brought to the notice of the authorities several times and it is unfortunate that nothing has been done till now.

Rationalise bus fares

The BMTC bus fare from Kumaraswamy Layout to Monotype (a distance of 2.5 km) is Rs 8. The fare is Rs 12 for the next stage of 2.5km (Basavanagudi police station) and it is Rs 17 to City Market, for the next distance of 3 km. Therefore I would like to suggest that minimum bus fare should be Rs 5 only and not Rs 8 as at present.

Depute traffic cop

Byatarayanapura area is famous for the Hanuman temple located here. The temple is more than 900 years old and devotees from all parts of Karnataka visit this temple. However, the devotees are finding it very difficult to cross the road here due to heavy movement of vehicles. The authorities concerned are requested to install a traffic signal or depute a traffic cop to mitigate the travails of devotees.

Increase bus frequency

Please increase the number of buses plying towards Kaggadaspura and DRDO Township Phase-2. Shuttle or mini buses are required here as the road in these areas is not wide and the vehicles have to cross railway tracks. Passengers are put into inconvenience when the level cross gates are closed to facilitate movement of trains.

Ply more buses

There are not many buses from Punathur ie., Bellandur railway station to Varthur. The residents here have to walk about three km  to catch buses and auto drivers demand a huge fare for the short distance. The BMTC would be doing a yeoman service by plying more buses to Varthur.

Introduce feeder service at Metro stations

The newly commissioned metro service from Peenya Industrial Township to Mantri Square would be of much use if the BMTC introduces feeder services from metro stations.

A majority of the sites in Rajajinagar first and second blocks had been allotted to employees of the Vidhana Soudha and as such the BMRCL can expect more passengers from this category if frequent feeder services are operated during peak hours from metro stations to residential localities in the vicinity.

More such services could be provided at Mahalakshmi station near Nandini Layout where quarters for Vidhana Soudha employees is located.

This would result in reducing traffic congestion from Nandini Layout to
Shivajinagar, as well as towards Majestic.

Dispatch BSNL bills early

Every month BSNL
landline customers have the anxiety whether they
can pay their bills before the last date without paying any fine.
The reason why for this is that even though the bills are generated by the sixth of every month and SMSes
are sent to the customer,
one cannot pay the bill amount at BangaloreOne without producing the hard copy of the bill.
Generally, the customers get the bill only after the
22nd of each month leaving very little time to make
payment within the due date.
 It will be convenient to
the customers if the bill is sent early so that one can pay the bill amount well in advance.

Repair defunct streetlights

The streetlights on 15th Cross, First Block, TC Palya Road of Akshayanagar have not been functioning since a long time and repeated complaints to the BBMP office have not been of any use. The complaint was thrice entered in the register maintained at the BBMP office in the last two months. However, there has been no action till date and it appears that the complaint registers are maintained only for namesake. Will the authorities take immediate action to restore the defunct streetlights?

Set right traffic signal timings

The newly installed traffic signal on Jaymahal Road is causing a huge traffic jam during morning hours. The unscientific timings of the signals have become a headache for the motorists. Either the timing of the signals should be set right depending on the traffic density or else the signal should be removed from its location.

Eateries causing traffic jam

During morning hours, a number of footpath vendors serve food at road-side eateries near Dell, close to Domlur flyover. Cab drivers, in order to have food, park their vehicles here leading to traffic jam. The traffic cops are least bothered about the mess here. Will some officer look into the problem and address the issue?

Illegal hutments in MV Layout

Unauthorised settlements and tents have come up on vacant sites in first block of Sir M V Layout (near Shirke, Kengeri Housing Board quarters). The people staying here relieve themselves on road sides. Plastics, worn out clothes and other garbage is thrown on roads. This has made the place to stink a lot and the residents in the locality are finding it difficult to walk on the road. The road is unsafe since there is no police patrolling during day or night. No action has been taken in spite of lodging complaints to the officers concerned several times in the past one year.
